Parma Ham & Parmigiano-Reggiano sponsor "Gruppo del Gusto" Award

On 12 November, the 2007 "Premio Del Gusto" Award will be presented in the 'Aldobrandini Scuderie' in the Municipality of Frascati (Rome). The winner was decided by the members of the National Association of Foreign Press in Italy. The Association and its international newspaper, radio and television correspondents are proud to be able to report events from the 'Bel Paese' all round the
world. The 'Gruppo del Gusto' Award supports the 'Globo d'Oro' prize that the Association dedicates every year to the world of cinema.  Topics that especially interest the 500 correspondents are 'Made in Italy' and Italian Food and Drink. 
Specialised journalists in this sector got together to form the "Gruppo del Gusto".   With this award, foreign correspondents are able to observe what is happening in the Italian food and drink sector and aim to promote products and individuals that have maybe been forgotten by Italians but that have great potential abroad.  In previous
years, the award was presented to emerging producers like the Organic Sicilian Tomato Cooperative – La Rinascita, as well as well-known individuals and institutions like the Italian Enoteca in Siena and Slow Food founded by Carlo Petrini. 
The 'Fattoria di Vaira' and  Bruno Gambacorta, were presented with the award in 2006. Gualtiero Marchesi was given an award for his legendary career. The 2007 Award Ceremony is sponsored by the Parma Ham and Parmigiano-Reggiano cheese Consortiums. This year the Awards will be held in the historical Aldobrandini Scuderie in the Municipality of Frascati.
