It's full speed ahead for exports of Parma ham. Figures relating to the first quarter are positive both for pre-sliced Parma Ham (+19.2%) and for the non-European markets, a success which compensates for difficulties on the domestic market due to production surpluses. As a whole growth in the pre-sliced sector has been 21.7%, as a result of a growth in sales both in Italy (+10,000 hams) and abroad (+20,000 hams). For practicality and versatililty, pre-packed sliced Parma ham meets modern consumer demands. Excellence and an increase in sales worldwide is the result of cutting edge technology together with profound respect for and knowledge of the product. Sales of the traditional product have also been excellent on all the main non-European markets. After a difficult start, America tops the list, equalling last year's figures (70,000 hams), while sales in Japan (+34.2% with 21,000 hams) and above all Canada (+ 74.5% with 6,700 hams) have increased.
