The Parma Ham Consortium at Anuga

09.09.2005

Once again the Parma Ham Consortium will be participating at the Anuga Exhibition this year, the biggest international food fair in Europe held in Cologne from the 8th to the 12th October 2005.

At 12 o’clock on Monday 10th October, the president of the Consortium, Stefano Tedeschi, will meet with press representatives at the Consortium’s stand.

During the press conference the fundamental role of the Consortium will be discussed which, besides controlling production processes, is also involved in other activities that are crucial for the protection and promotion of Parma Ham in Italy and throughout the world.

This is an important occasion to discuss the strict regulations regarding the production of Parma Ham and to reveal the processing secrets of one of most known and appreciated Italian products in Germany.  It is also a time for meeting with trade and discussing market development as well as reflecting on possible future strategies for the Consortium in Germany.

While on this subject it is worth mentioning that the German market represents one of Parma Ham’s main markets (second in Europe after France): in 2204, Germany bought 300,000 hams equal to more than 1 million kg of product.
