14.02.2005

The Parma Ham Consortium will be present at the 30th edition of FOODEX, an annual trade fair dedicated to the food and beverage sector and which is being held in Tokyo on 8th March 2005.
The Foodex exhibition, which is considered to be the most important appointment in the whole of the Asiatic area by those operating in the agricultural and food sector, is held on an annual basis inside the Exhibition Halls at the Nippon Convention Center in Tokyo and concerns all food industry products, including wine and spirits.

The last exhibition was visited by 105,487 professional operators, confirming a growth that has been continuing since 2001. There were 2,465 exhibitors of which 1,700 were foreign.
At Foodex 2005, The Prosciutto di Parma Consortium will be located inside the Italian pavilion organized by the Italian Institute for the Promotion of Foreign Trade (ICE).

The Italian pavilion will be set out over an area of approximately 3,200 sqm with about 200 exhibitors.

Foodex represents an important showcase for Parma Ham. In fact, Japan represents one of its main outlets on the non-European market. During 2004, Consortium companies exported more than 76,000 hams; +3% compared to the previous year's results.
