Celebrating the Consorzio's 40th Anniversary: activities

Along the entire month of September Prosciutto di Parma will be in the spotlight, right in the heart of the town of Parma thanks to a 600 sq. metre building in Piazzale della Pace. Inside this building there will be a special tasting corner open to the public, a restaurant and an exhibition/film projection area dedicated to Prosciutto di Parma.

The building will also host many of the activities in programme for the celebration such as meetings with chefs and jazz concerts.

· Classical Music , concerts in the Teatro Regio in Parma
· Verdi Orchestra from Milan, directed by Riccardo Chailly, 20th September
· Orchestra directed by Giuseppe Camerlingo 24th and 27th September
· Jazz Music: every Thursday, concerts in Piazzale della Pace
· Pop music: every Wednesday, cover bands in the streets and squares of Parma centre
· Finestre aperte: in the two weekends 6-7 September and 4-5 October-tourists will be able to take part in free tours to the Prosciutto di Parma productions and tasting sessions with an expert
· Activities with restaurants : 60 Parma restaurants will be involved in activities and offering Prosciutto di Parma menus, tasting sessions and serving suggestions
· Ferrari cars parade on 7th September, from Parma centre to the production area
· Sports: three events, one for adults (Maraton race on September 14th ) one for children (Junior Bike, September 21st) one for families (A Sunday for Sports September 28th)
· Cinema: a film review with films of year 1963 and on agricultural society.

An important seminar will take place on October 4 in the Chamber of Commerce: `Better Protecting Quality Products worldwide: the way forward` .
