New York - official launch of a European Joint promotion programm in the U.S.

N.Y. November 14 2002 - Today takes place the official launch of a European joint promotion programm in the U.S.. The three products of excellence are Prosciutto di Parma and Parmigiano Reggiano cheese from Italy, Franche Comtè cheese from France. They have a lot in common: the European Protected Designation of Origin, for a start. High quality, uniqueness and century long tradition of their strictly regulated production processes, to continue. And finally, after their long aging they are 100% natural, delicious on their own but very versatile both in the simplest and in the most refined recipes of international cuisine. All this and more will be delivered and discussed at the Essex House in New York, where around luncheon tables journalists, food editors and trade operators shall share a valuable experience. While tasting a specifically created menu featuring the three delicious European products , they shall be lead into a discussion by Ari Weinzweig, the very well known owner of Zingerman's, in Ann Arbor-Michigan. The European Commission shall be represented by Ms. Maryse Coutsouradis, from the Washington delegation, who will explain the significance of European protection and geographical indications.
